During my time at Michigan Ross, I taught ACC 471, Principles of Accounting, in Winter 2023 as lead instructor:
Course Evaluation: 4.9/5.0
I also had the following additional teaching experience:
EMBA 601, Evaluating Financial Performance, Fall 2021, 2022 - Teaching assistant (Held biweekly office hours)
EMBA 605, Financial Statement Analysis, Winter 2022 - Teaching assistant (Held weekly office hours)
What were the strengths of this course?
"McKenna was a fantastic professor, it wouldn't be evident that this was her first semester teaching if she did not tell the class. She was far more available to students than any other professor I have had in my last three years at Michigan, and she truly dedicated herself to teaching this class and ensuring she was free to help students at any time of the day. I was not extremely excited to take accounting, but McKenna made it much more enjoyable than I thought it could be."
"Professor McKenna Bailey knows the materials and explains very well. She knows teaching and cares about us. I would say she is the best professor I have met at UMich so far."
"McKenna Bailey was always available to students outside of class and incredibly helpful in breaking down accounting problems. I didn't come into this class expecting to like accounting, but she made the course truly enjoyable."
"Professor Bailey is hands down the clearest, most helpful, and honestly kindest professor I have had throughout my entire minor curriculum. Her passion for accounting and for the success of her students is palpable in all of her lectures, in how accessible she is to students, and in how much care she takes to make the class genuinely enjoyable and not at all dull. I never thought I would be interested in accounting so much, but this course, and Professor Bailey in particular, has made me want to keep learning more. I cannot recommend her enough as a professor and as a shining example of Ross excellence."
